Drug Supplier Noguera

A state prison guard, Sergio Javier Noguera, 38, of Salinas, California was arrested in an undercover operation after an informant alerted authorities in April that Noguera was providing contraband to prison inmates.

Noguera met with an undercover officer late Tuesday evening, believing that he would be paid $2,500 to smuggle an ounce of methamphetamine, an ounce of herion, 3 ½ ounces of marijuana and four cell phones into Salina Valley State Prison, in Monterey County, where he worked. The prison employs 946 guards and houses 3,700 minimum and maximum security offenders.

Noguera is being held in lieu of $130,000 bail on drug-related charges.
